The proven way to racing success in the Coughlin family has been in a straight
line -- as in the 1,320 feet of a drag strip. But third-generation racer Cody
Coughlin has quickly proven his family pedigree translates well to oval tracks.
At just 14 years of age, the son of drag racing champion John Coughlin and grandson
of NHRA legend Jeg Coughlin Sr. already has a title to his name after winning
USAC's Heavy Mod division in its .25 Midget Series in the fall of 2009.
Taking the next step in 2010, Cody now races a 420-horsepower Stock Car as part of
the ASA Late Model Northern Series. Racing alongside numerous drivers more than
twice his age, Cody has a lot to prove in a feeder series that has produced several
NASCAR stars over the years.

COLUMBUS, Ohio - 8.22.2010 Sunday's racing was some of the best
of the year! While the day started with the threat of rain falling from the sky.
The only thing that fell was track records!! The Buckeye Kids found a new gear
as they broke four separate records.
* Seth Crandall set two new track records - first he piloted his Magnum Chassis
to set the Jr. Animal record and then he blistered the Lt 160 record
* Clay Siegel continued the trend by setting the Sr. Animal track record in his new Hawk Chassis
* Ethan Mullet finished the record setting day by demolishing the Heavy World Formula
record in his Nervo Chassis
Chase Dean won the Sr Honda 50 Lap Main Event from the tail!! Congrats on a great
race Chase!

BQMRA's Erika Newcome, who will be a sophomore at Liberty Union this year, hasn't given up
quarter-midget racing yet. She and her father have criss-crossed the country
doing both quarter-midget and mini-sprint races this summer. She will leave quarter-midget circuit

National Event - "The Battle of the Brickyard"!! Twelve different drivers
made appearances in thirteen of the A-Main events with three drives claiming
the national spotlight as Champions!!
